Dr. Wijesinghe received his Ph.D. in chemistry from Clemson University under the guidance of Professor Dvora Perahia and Dr. Gary S. Grest in 2018. In a broad sense, his PhD research is focused on understanding the structure and dynamics of soft materials in confined geometry using molecular dynamics simulations. Following his graduate work, he completed a postdoc at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with Professor Max L. Berkowitz where he studied shock wave induced cavitation on membranes. His interests are in theoretical and computational modeling of physical systems in the soft material world.
Dr. Wijesinghe started teaching at Appalachian State University in the Fall of 2020.
